Carrot River Buck

During the 1992 season, with about two weeks left, Andrew Fehr of Carrot River, SK. was looking to get a buck bigger than his 3 pointer from last season. Feeling the pressure of the season coming to and end he had one in his sights that too quickly disappeared into the bush following his doe. Getting back into the truck to go to a different area, the snow was now reducing visibility. Seeing something moving on a field he stopped and sat in the snow to take a closer look. He could tell it was a big buck, but didn't know how big. As the deer kept walking towards him and reached 80 yards he gasped in disbelief at the massive rack that looked out of place on the head of the deer. Andrew squeezed off a shot from his 30.06 and the buck dropped right where he stood. After a lot of excitement, Andrew and his buddy closely examined the buck. With seven points on the right side and six on the left along with two sticker points on the left, the characteristic that stood out the most was the huge mass. The beams were so thick that his fingers wouldn't reach around them! The inside spread is 23 6/8 inches. The mass on this buck is truly IMPRESSIVE!
